DAY 3 SEMINAR • THURSDAY 17 SEPTEMBER • 12.30 – 13.30
Designing for neuroinclusive workplaces: A focus on flooring
RIBA Core Curriculum: Health, safety and wellbeing, Inclusive environments
Knowledge Level: General awareness

This seminar provides design considerations when specifying floor coverings for neuro-inclusive work environments. The presentation starts by explaining what neurodiversity means and the challenges and opportunities neurodivergent employees present for the workplace. It goes on to review the legislation relating to neuro-inclusive design and key sensitivities that architects and designers need to be aware of when designing and specifying floor coverings for a neurodivergent workforce. With example installations, the seminar illustrates how floor coverings can best support the design of neuro-inclusive workspaces.
